Everton have loaned out Luke Garbutt to Oxford United, but the youngster has made a very poor start on loan.

Everton defender Luke Garbutt is being absolutely slated by fans of his temporary side, Oxford United.

Everton allowed Garbutt to move out on loan to Oxford this summer, but the left-back has not made a good start for his new side.

Garbutt was selected to start at the weekend, but he failed to impress as Oxford lost 4-1 to Portsmouth.

And the Everton youngster is now facing growing criticism on social media website Twitter.

Garbutt was once considered a potential starter for Everton, but his career has stalled in recent times.

The England youth international has failed to break into Everton’s first-team, and a series of loan spells haven’t really worked out for him.

For Garbutt to be struggling at League One level must be a concern for Everton, as his chances of forcing his way back in at Goodison Park now look very slim.

Oxford are next in action against Accrington Stanley tomorrow, as they look to move off the foot of the table.

Luke Garbutt of Everton walks on to the field ahead of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match between Everton FC and FC Dynamo Kyiv on March 12, 2015 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
