Everton coach reportedly wants to stay put.

David Unsworth has rejected the chance to leave his role as coach of Everton’s under-23 team to manage Oxford United.
Either way it appears Unsworth is staying put on Merseyside, after it appeared earlier in the week that the promising young coach was set to land the job at Oxford, who are still looking for a replacement for Pep Clotet.

Unsworth has had a complicated season at Everton, thrust into the limelight early in the season when he became the club’s caretaker boss.
He found this more difficult than he would have hoped, and Everton chose to hire experienced boss Sam Allardyce as first team manager when Unsworth originally claimed he wanted the gig full time.
The chance to move to Oxford was an opportunity for him to develop further as a manager, and if he is serious about landing the Everton job one day, he may need to go and prove himself elsewhere.
Oxford fans though are not too upset about Unsworth’s choice, having reservations about the appointment in the first place.
