Roofe impressed in his first full season at Oxford
Oxford United chairman Darryl Eales has disclosed how much Leeds United would have to pay for reported target Kemar Roofe, via the Oxford Mail.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Monday that Leeds had eased off in their Roofe pursuit, having been quoted £3 million for the League Two player of the year.
And when asked about Roofe’s alleged valuation, Eagles replied: “To be fair that’s always been my minimum number for Kemar.
“He’s got two more years on his contract and there’s no pressure on Michael (Appleton, the U’s boss) to sell anyone.

“If someone comes in with a valuation that matches ours we will think about it, but no-one has.”
Roofe scored or assisted 27 goals last season as the U’s finished second in the League Two standings.
However, only two of the 23-year-old’s career appearances have come outside of England’s fourth tier, which has understandably drawn caution from potential suitors.
And Oxford’s seemingly high valuation is said to stem from a sell-on fee owed to Roofe’s former club West Bromwich Albion, who the Oxford Mail reports would be owed “a significant chunk” of any sale.
Leeds have already spent a reported £1.6 million on Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson this summer (Fotboll Direkt), and with strike pair Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara already on their books, the Whites are likely to spread their budget across other areas.
