Darwin Nunez to Liverpool has been the biggest story in football this week.
Indeed, according to numerous sources, the Reds are ready to smash their transfer record for the Uruguayan, and it looks as though a deal is well on its way to being completed.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that Liverpool have submitted a bid, and now, there’s been a huge hint dropped by a man who knows Nunez very well.
Indeed, Turki Alalshikh, the owner of Nunez’s old club, Almeria, has taken to Twitter to post an image that suggests that Nunez is headed to Liverpool.
We don’t know whether or not this is a leaked image after Nunez has signed or a very convincing photoshop, but Alalshikh likely wouldn’t be tweeting this unless he’d heard something about Nunez joining the Reds.
Alalshikh will certainly be in the loop about this deal. After all, Almeria are due for a hefty windfall upon any transfer for Nunez as they reportedly negotiated a sell-on clause worth 20 per cent when he moved to Benfica.
Of course, this is football so nothing can be taken for granted until the paperwork is signed and a transfer is officially announced, but this tweet is the biggest hint yet that Nunez is on his way to Merseyside.
