The Chilean has been used in a central role for Arsenal this season.

Michael Owen has told BT Sport he thinks Arsenal should still use Alexis Sanchez as a left winger, despite his success in a central role this season.
The Chilean has been in impressive form the Gunners this season, with six goals in all competitions so far.
He has been used in a central role, with manager Arsene Wenger electing to make him his first choice striker this season.
It is a switch which has proved very successful, not only to his own goals tally but also to his teammates’ performances as the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott have all shone around him.

It has led to talk that Arsenal have finally found the striker their team has long been missing but Owen insists that is not the case.
“I think when you’re such a good player like Sanchez is, you’re going to be successful playing anywhere,” he told BT Sport.
“Of course he’s very good at centre forward but if Arsenal want to go and win the league or the Champions League I think he would be better suited playing on the left.”

It remains to be seen if Arsenal do stick with Alexis Sanchez as their central striker for the remainder of the season.
It has certainly worked well for them so far, with the Gunners currently sitting joint top of the Premier League and in first place in their Champions League group.
That means change is not needed at this moment in time but if things take a turn for the worse, perhaps Wenger will be tempted to return Sanchez to his previous role.
