Newcastle United massively boosted their survival prospects on Tuesday.

Owen Hargreaves has told BT Sport that there is ‘no chance’ of Newcastle United being relegated from the Premier League.
Newcastle pulled off a shock 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Manchester City at St James’s Park on Tuesday.
In doing so, Rafael Benitez’s side moved 14th in the table and five points clear of the bottom three.
The victory came hours after reports from Sky Sports that Miguel Almiron’s protracted transfer to the Magpies was close to being completed, enhancing morale among the home players before kickoff.
And Hargreaves can see no reason why the Tyneside outfit would find themselves in trouble from this point on.
He told BT Sport, when asked if they would get relegated: “Not with Rafa Benitez. No chance. They need a number ten, they’re going to get that in Almiron who’s very creative.
“Obviously, Rondon pops up with big goals. But the way they defend – with goal difference, they won’t be anywhere near it, I don’t think.”
There is a genuine buzz around Newcastle’s season again for the first time in a long time, and hopefully for their sake they can keep moving upwards.
United visit Tottenham on Saturday which, when you consider the North Londoners’ woes, isn’t as tough a game as it would have been if Harry Kane and Dele Alli were fit, before then travelling to in-form Wolves nine days later.
