Tottenham Hotspur remain in contention to win the Champions League, and are nailed on to qualify for next season’s competition.

TV presenter Laura Wontorra talks with Owen Hargreaves prior to the UEFA Europa League quarter final, second leg match between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at Anfield on April 14, 2016...

Owen Hargreaves suggested that it is unbelievable that Tottenham have been able to compete both domestically and on the continent this season, when speaking during a guest appearance on BT Sport’s Score programme on Saturday.

Spurs currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, three points clear of fifth placed Arsenal, and they will secure Champions League football for a fourth consecutive season, if they manage a draw at home to Everton on Sunday.

In fact, Tottenham can afford to lose to Everton, as long as Arsenal do not better their result by an eight goal margin when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley.

At one point this season, however, Spurs were right in the mix for the Premier League title, before eventually faltering and dropping out of the race.

Hargreaves suggested that it is still unbelievable that Tottenham are even in the hunt for the top four, though, when speaking during a guest appearance on BT Sport’s Score programme on Saturday:

Mauricio Pochettino manager

“Yes, Manchester City have a better training ground and the infrastructure, but they [Tottenham] have one of the best managers, and a young talented squad. They just need to win something. Liverpool and Manchester City have spent hundreds of millions of pounds, the fact that they are even in the position to finish in the Champions League places, when you look at the other clubs going for the top four, I think it is unbelievable.”

Tottenham can, of course, still achieve glory this season.

They need to win in Amsterdam tomorrow tonight, if they are to progress through to the final of the Champions League, and if they are on their best form, anything will be possible for this Spurs side.
