Owen Hargreaves raved about Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun on BT Sport 2 (7:50pm, December 9, 2020).

The former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder was impressed by the performance of the 19-year-old striker for Arsenal in their Europa League game against Dundalk way from home on Thursday evening.

The Englishman believes that Balogun looks different to some of the other players and has outlined the attributes of the Arsenal teenager.

Hargreaves said about Balogun on BT Sport 2 (7:50pm, December 9, 2020):.”He has got something, 100%. Just the way he protects the ball, he brings his teammates into play, he makes quick decisions, doesn’t get caught in possession, sets it, he spins. Just think he is just one of those players who gives something different. He was really good to watch today.”

One for the future

Balogun played well for Arsenal on Thursday evening, as the 19-year-old striker scored after coming on as a substitute.

The 19-year-old showed some good touches and looked very comfortable on the ball.

According to WhoScored, the England Under-20 international striker took two shots, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 85.7%, and took 15 touches.

The teenager is only just starting his career, and it is not going to be easy for him to play regularly in the coming weeks. However, Balogun is a very talented player who has a bright future ahead of him.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Balogun is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer of 2021.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants Balogun to sign a new contract and stay at the club.
