Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic lost against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week.

Celtic were not expected to win or even draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week.
As good as Celtic are in the Scottish Premiership, the Bhoys are not at the level of Bayern, and that showed at the Allianz Arena in the Group B game on Wednesday.
The German giants took the lead after just 17 minutes when Thomas Muller found the target.
Joshua Kimmich doubled the advantage for the Bundesliga outfit just before the half-hour mark, and Mats Hummels wrapped up the scoring in the opening minutes of the second period.

The Glasgow giants were a bit lucky not to have conceded two or three more against Jupp Heynckes’s side.
Former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves was following the Champions League game for BT Sport.
The former England international midfielder picked two Celtic players for praise for their performance against Bayern – Olivier Ntcham and Patrick Roberts
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said that Scotland international left-back Kieran Tierney did well against Bayern.

“Ntcham, I think he had some good moments, and Roberts was very positive as well,” said Hargreaves on BT Sport/ESPN on Wednesday night (9:54pm, October 18, 2017) during the post-match coverage of the Champions League match between Bayern and Celtic.
“It’s when you have the opportunity to play at the top level as often as you can, it can do nothing but help you,” Rodgers told The Scottish Sun.
“I thought Kieran did really well in Munich. He was against Arjen and you saw his qualities at 33 years of age. He’s a world-class operator, but Kieran stuck to his task really well, so you are only going to get better.”
