Owen Coyle has told The Scottish Sun that Oliver Burke is a great singing for Celtic.

Burke has joined the Scottish Premiership giants on loan from West Bromwich Albion in the Championship in England until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old winger was struggling for playing time at The Hawthorns, and the former Nottingham Forest star will be aiming to establish himself as an important player in Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic team.

Coyle, who was quoted as saying by The Scottish Sun back in September 2017 that he turned down the chance to manage Celtic in 2009, believes that Burke is a good signing for the Hoops.

“Celtic will respond — and Oliver Burke is also a great signing,” Coyle told The Scottish Sun while discussing Rangers’ transfer business so far in January.

Stepping up

There is no doubt that Burke is very talented and has a lot of potential, but the winger needs to step up.

While one can understand the lack of chances for the Scotland international at West Brom, one must ask why he was not getting them.

Working under Rodgers, though, could develop Burke and could make him a better player.
