Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Ovie Ejaria on loan from Liverpool to Ibrox.
Ovie Ejaria has left Liverpool for Rangers to work with new Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard, but the 20-year-old midfielder is determined to succeed at Anfield in the long run, according to comments published on the club’s official website.
As announced on Liverpool’s official website, Ejaria, who spent the second half of the past season on loan at Sunderland, has joined the Merseyside outfit on a season-long loan deal after signing a new long-term contract with the Reds.
Ejaria told Liverpool’s official website after signing the new contract: “It’s a really great feeling. I’ve been at Liverpool for four years now and I’m just really happy to extend my stay here. It’s a massive club, the club’s doing really well at the moment, so it wasn’t a hard decision at all.”
When asked to outline his targets for the upcoming campaign and beyond, Ejaria said: “I’m just going to keep working hard and see where that takes me. I really want to be a regular at Liverpool Football Club, a massive club, so that’s my aim.”
Encouraging for Rangers fans
Ejaria clearly sees him as a Liverpool player in the long run and is at Rangers for a brief period of time, but the youngster’s comments are very encouraging for the Ibrox faithful.
For the 20-year-old to have a long-term future at Liverpool and to play under manager Jurgen Klopp in the coming years, he will have to make the most of the chances he will get at Rangers next season.
This means that the England Under-21 international will be very determined to make an impact at Ibrox and impress Liverpool legend Gerrard, which in turn is going to help the Gers in their quest to close the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic.
