Ovie Ejaria made a very sudden departure from Rangers last month as his loan spell was cut short.
The attacking midfielder’s promising start to the season had faded at Ibrox and he returned to parent club Liverpool.
Ejaria has now clinched a loan move to Championship strugglers Reading, who sit 23rd in England’s second tier.
This is Ejaria’s third loan, following spells at Sunderland and Rangers.
Ejaria told Reading’s official website he is determined to kick on at Reading and believes his previous experiences can help him.
He also praised Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, making his feelings on the manager clear.
Ejaria said: “I’ve played quite a few games now on both of those loan spells, they have benefitted me and I can take those experiences into this one.
“He (Steven Gerrard) is a very good manage and I’m grateful for the opportunity he gave me.”
Ejaria did not discuss the reasons for his Rangers loan deal being cut short, which as yet have not been made clear.
The 21-year-old made 28 appearances for Rangers in total, scoring two goals.
