Mike McGrath has shared how Aston Villa could now be ‘overtaken’ by others in the transfer race for Liverpool target and Leeds United midfielder, Tyler Adams.
The Telegraph reporter added that, for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, the midfield isn’t a ‘priority position’ for them, so as a result, they could fall away from signing the American midfielder, as he told talkSPORT.
A number of teams across the Premier League have been linked with Tyler Adams, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who are looking to refresh their midfield this summer.
Whilst Leeds suffered an abject and toothless relegation last season, including shipping a stupid amount of goals.
Someone like Adams watched all of that unfold from the sidelines because his injury prevented him from trying to help his team slide down back to the Championship in an embarrassing fashion.
But what is Leeds’ loss is going to be someone else’s gain, as McGrath handed Liverpool a possible boost to sign Adams given that Villa’s eyes are now looking elsewhere.

“The situation with Tyler Adams is that he is liked by Aston Villa in that position,” said McGrath. “My understanding is that it’s not the priority position for them, at the moment.
“But he is certainly one they are looking at, maybe if they get some out like Dendoncker. If he goes, then Tyler Adams comes into the mix.
“I think he will be on the list of others as well because of Leeds’ situation of being relegated. He would be available for a fairly reasonable price. Others could overtake Aston Villa in the near future. Champions League experience.”

Adams would take his game to the next level under Klopp
At 24, if the opportunity is put on the table, then Adams shouldn’t hesitate in making that switch to Liverpool because it would really elevate his game.
A hard-hitting midfielder, who was dubbed ‘special’ by his former manager Jesse Marsch, he would suit Jurgen Klopp’s style down to a tee and provide that energy and aggression that has been missing on Merseyside.
Added to that, given that he is a relegated player, then he isn’t going to cost a stupid amount of money, but the Reds have to be wary because the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham are also keen on the USMNT international.
