Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Monaco ace, according to reports.
Thomas Lemar is one of the continent’s most highly sought after players, but despite reports linking him with a move to Arsenal, Gunners fans took to Twitter to plead with their club to spend their summer transfer budget elsewhere.
The France international has been a revelation for Monaco over the past couple of seasons, but his performances in Ligue 1 undoubtedly dropped off last term.
That hasn’t stopped the media linking him with a big money exit from the principality this summer, however.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal were keen on signing Lemar in January, and reports linking the Frenchman with a switch to north London have resurfaced recently.
The Gunners have recruited in the attacking department over the past 12 months, however, bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mikhitaryan, and it is hard to see where the Monaco ace would fit in at the Emirates.
Unai Emery will now surely be looking to spend his funds on improving other areas of his squad, and Arsenal fans seem to agree with that notion, pleading with there club to look elsewhere other than Lemar this summer…
