Kieran Tierney has paid tribute to Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The Germany international didn’t have a huge lot to do in last night’s 3-1 win over Chelsea, but still played a big role nonetheless.

That’s because Leno, a £22 million signing in 2018, saved a 90th-minute penalty from Jorginho to keep Arsenal’s two-goal lead.

With how the Gunners have been playing as of late, it would’ve been a very long last five minutes for Mikel Arteta on the touchline had the Blues midfielder made it 3-2.

And Tierney has heralded the former Bayer Leverkusen star, describing him as ‘outstanding’.

He told Sky after the game: “Leno has dug us out of a hole there as it would have been a long five minutes if that penalty had gone in. Leno is an outstanding keeper and he saved us today.”

It was a good save but, if we’re honest, any goalkeeper would’ve done the same.

It was quite simply an awful effort from the Italian midfielder and although Leno is indeed brilliant, Jorginho couldn’t have made it much easier for the Arsenal man.

With Alexandre Lacazette scoring from a penalty, Granit Xhaka from a free kick and Bukayo Saka from a cross, everything simply went Arsenal’s way against the Blues, so Leno’s save was keeping in theme of the night.
