One of the players who did well at Celtic and then moved to the Premier League in recent years is Ryan Christie.

Ryan Christie was a big success at Celtic.

During his time at the Hoops, Christie won the Scottish Premiership title twice, the Scottish Cup on two occasions, and the Scottish League Cup twice as well.

In the summer of 2021, Bournemouth signed Christie from Celtic.

The Cherries were then in the Championship in England.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake described Christie as “outstanding” on the club’s official website at the time.

Christie has since helped Bournemouth get promoted to the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers wants Ryan Christie back at Celtic

TEAMtalk is now reporting that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring Christie back to Celtic Park.

The midfielder is out of contract at Bournemouth in the summer of 2024.

The Cherries are in talks with Christie over a new deal, and they have been positive.

According to TEAMtalk, “there is interest in Christie, and a return to Scotland could even be possible with those close to the player stating Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of his”.

My View: Ryan Christie unlikely to return to Celtic

I do not think that Ryan Christie will go back to Celtic anytime soon.

Yes, Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world who regularly play in the UEFA Champions League and win the Scottish Premiership.

However, the Premier League is the biggest, richest and most prestigious domestic league in the world.

Christie is 28 now and is in his prime.

I find it hard to envisage Christie going back to Scotland to play club football at this stage in his career.

The Scotland international has done well for Bournemouth over the years.

If Christie does not stay at Bournemouth, then I am sure that he will find another club in the Premier League.

Christie has made 41 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The midfielder has scored one goal and given two assists in those games.
