Well, speculation is mounting that Arsenal might be signing a certain Eden Hazard.
The Belgium international hasn’t delivered since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in a £130 million deal during the summer of 2019.
And a return to the Premier League is being mooted for the 31-year-old.
According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal have discussed the prospect of signing the player on loan from the Spanish colossus this summer.
The former Blues attacker hasn’t scored in any of his 22 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, he remains a massive talent. Just ask Roy Keane.
Arsenal would be getting an ‘outstanding player’ if they wind up signing Hazard, based on some past comments by the legendary midfielder.
He said via The Guardian in 2016: “I think he’s a talented boy. I’d like him to be in our group, he’s a really, really top player. Don’t get me the wrong way, I think he’s an outstanding player.”
Still outstanding?
Well it goes without saying that Hazard was a lot more of a force back when Keane made these comments.
However, class is permanent and in the right setting, under the right manager, the former Chelsea might just dazzle at Arsenal.
Yes he’s over 30, but MIkel Arteta is an excellent man-manager and appears to be building something quite special at the Emirates Stadium once again.
He won’t be the same player who terrorised defences in the Premier League during his previous stint at Chelsea, but he could still be a major asset for the Gunners.
