Arsenal rounded off their Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Brighton at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
A brace from Nicolas Pepe had Arsenal cruising by the hour mark.
But some fans of the Gunners have been praising another player throughout the game.
Pepe’s first was set up by Calum Chambers, who joined Arsenal for £16 million under Arsene Wenger in 2014.
Chambers has rebuilt his career at the Emirates as a right-back under Mikel Arteta this season.
And his delivery was on point throughout the win, with Pepe getting on the end of one of his crosses early in the second half.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to his display today:
Wenger tried using Chambers as a right-back before but it didn’t work.
There was one infamous night at Swansea City when a certain Jefferson Montero tore the former Southampton star a new one.
But Chambers does look far more confident in that position nowadays and with Hector Bellerin likely leaving this summer, who’s to say Arteta needs to sign a replacement?
Well, he definitely does need to sign another right-back because Cedric Soares hasn’t been great, but Chambers can stake his claim over being Arteta’s first choice for that role next term.
