Sam Johnstone has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, and the West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper’s performance against Crystal Palace once again showed why.
The Sun reported in January 2021 that Spurs are looking at Johnstone as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris in the summer of 2021.
The report in the British tabloid claimed that Tottenham are worried that former manager Mauricio Pochettino will try to sign Lloris for his current club Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
Even if the French goalkeeper stays at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs could do with a young(er) player in the position to push him.
Johnstone is one of the very few players at West Brom who are doing well this season, and it is very likely that the Baggies will have to cash in on him if they get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Baggies lost 1-0 to Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Johnstone made two brilliant saves, one to keep Luka Milivojevic’s effort out and another to deny Christian Benteke.
Gary Lineker was following the match, and the former Tottenham Hotspur striker was impressed by Johnstone, as shown below.
