Gary Neville has praised Liverpool defender James Milner on Sky Sports Premier League (6:08pm, October 16, 2022) for his performance against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
The former Manchester United star believes that Milner was “outstanding” for Liverpool at right-back against defending Premier League champions Manchester City.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been struggling with injury, so Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp decided to start Milner at right-back instead.
And Sky Sports pundit Neville was impressed by the 36-year-old former City star’s display at Anfield.

Impressive performance
In our view, Liverpool right-back James Milner played well against Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League this evening.
Milner’s cross in the first half could have led to Liverpool scoring.
The former Leeds United and Newcastle United star put in a very good and solid performance defensively and showed why he can be trusted even at his age to do a job.
Now, of course, Milner cannot play 90 minutes week in and week out, but he is a man for the big occasion who always gives his all.
Like he did against Manchester City today.
