Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has raved about the ‘outstanding’ squad of players that Liverpool have in the Leicester Mercury.
Much has been made of Liverpool’s injury problems, with Jurgen Klopp’s side missing a number of key players yesterday.
Liverpool were still able to beat Leicester 3-0 at Anfield last night, though.
And Rodgers feels that the result shows just how much strength in depth Liverpool have.
“I don’t go with that narrative,” Rodgers said. “Matip is a top defender, Robertson was still in there.
“I think (Liverpool’s injuries) has been the narrative leading into the game all week, but we’ve done well even with five players out at some points.
“Liverpool have an incredible record at Anfield, and it shows you the power and the strength in depth they have.
“They have an outstanding squad of players.”

Leicester actually went into the game sitting ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League standings, but they could not live with the Reds last night.
From the minute Jonny Evans scored an own-goal Leicester looked uncomfortable, and in truth they could have lost by a heavier margin.
Liverpool have now moved above Leicester in the Premier League standings and up to second in the table.
The Reds are next in domestic action against Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend, when they will hope to have some of their inured players back available again.
