Tottenham Hotspur arguably have the strongest first XI in the Premier League.

When writing his regular column for popular bookmakers Boyle Sports, Stan Collymore raved about the current Spurs side, whilst making a strange and underwhelming observation regarding two of Tottenham’s most important players.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been superb this season, on the domestic front at least, and currently sit in second position in the Premier League table, just seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, with seven games still remaining.

The Lilywhites management team and owners deserve extra credit for the manner in which they have provided a platform for young English players to showcase their ability, and their side now forms the backbone of the national team.

And Collymore lauded the work being done at White Hart Lane, when writing his regular column for Boyle Sports, although his comments on Eric Dier and Harry Kane were not exactly flattering:

“They have the spine of my beloved Three Lions. They are young, fresh and vibrant in every way from Alli’s innocent, child-like smile and way of playing, to Dier and Kane’s boring yet reassuring professionalism. Poch is now speaking much better and more confident English.”

Whilst the position that Dier plays in usually dictates the level of flair and skill that he can showcase, Kane’s performances this season have been anything but boring.

The England international has scored 24 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this term, and has been a major driving force behind their success.

Spurs fans will be hoping that he can keep up his ‘boring’ form for the remainder of the campaign, and if he manages to do that, they have every chance of winning their first league title in 56 years.
