Mohammed Kudus is reportedly open to a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are posing a major threat to the Gunners.

Journalist Charles Watts has told TEAMtalk that Arsenal are interested in signing Mohammed Kudus from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that the 22-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, is open to a move to Arsenal.

Watts said: “He [Kudus] is definitely a player that they like. I’ve seen the recent reports that they’re potentially looking to step up that interest a bit later on in the window, which wouldn’t surprise me if that is the case.

“I still think they’re probably looking at adding at least one more player before the deadline and Kudus ticks a lot of boxes in terms of what they would look to bring in.”

The reporter added: “Arsenal have a decent working relationship with Ajax after what they did with Timber, which might help them in that regard. And it seems like Kudus is quite open to a move.”

While Mohammed Kudus may be open to a move to Arsenal, Chelsea are now emerging as a genuine threat to the Gunners’ quest to bring the forward to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with the Ghana international, who was described as “outrageous” by former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport in September 2022.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are big clubs, and it will be interesting to see which club Kudus picks in the end.

The 22-year-old made 19 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season.

The youngster scored 11 goals and gave three assists in those matches.

Kudus scored one goal in two UEFA Europa League for Ajax last season.
