‘Outrageous’: Jenas says £130m reported Liverpool target is ‘scary’

Jermaine Jenas has raved about reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham on BBC Sport for his performance for England against Iran at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder believes that Bellingham, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, was superb for England on Monday, as they beat Iran 6-2 in their opening Group B match at the World Cup.

The 19-year-old opened the scoring for the Three Lions in the 35th minute.

Bellingham controlled the tempo of the game from the middle of the park, especially in the first half, and was a force to be reckoned with.

Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool have been linked with the teenager.

90min reported this week that Liverpool want to sign Bellingham and scouted the youngster in action for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this month..

Manchester United are also claimed to be keen on the youngster, who has scored three goals and given two assists in 15 Bundesliga matches and has also scored four goals and provided one assist in five UEFA Champions League games for Dotmund so far this season.

According to talkSPORT, Dortmund are looking for as much as £130 million in transfer fees for Bellingham.

Jenas said about Bellingham: “Things just keep getting bigger and better for Bellingham. What a stage to score your first England international goal.

“He has been doing this all season in the Champions League for Dortmund.

“Great ball in form Luke Shaw, spot on, but what a header that is. England get the goal that they have thoroughly deserved. What a finish from Jude Bellingham.

The BBC pundit later added: “He’s been outrageous today, Jude Bellingham. He’s 19 years old, 19! Honestly, watching him, it’s scary how good he is.”
