West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing the Barcelona-owned midfielder.

According to a report from Football.London, West Ham are preparing a new £20 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Hammers could be set to miss out on the Portugal international to Everton, however, according to a report from the Daily Star.
Gomes, 25, proved last season when playing for the Toffees that he is more than capable of being a success in the Premier League, and the outcome of West Ham’s chase for the Barca ace could end up defining their 2019/20 campaign.
The Portuguese ace is comfortable in possession and has a wonderful array of passing – two things that West Ham need in the middle of the park.
He is a truly elite player, and for the price of just £20 million, the Hammers could secure themselves a real coup, if they can find a way of beating Everton to his signature.

Gomes would undoubtedly help West Ham improve upon the fluidity of their play through the middle of the park, and his arrival at the London Stadium would instantly make Manuel Pellegrini’s team stronger.
The Hammers will be desperate to crack the top seven this season, and if they manage to snare Gomes, they will be in a great position from which to do just that.
