Lee Bowyer has admitted that he would jump at the chance to become Leeds United manager.
The Whites are set to axe Javi Gracia just days after the terrible 4-1 defeat away at Bournemouth.
Gracia was only appointed in February but is already set to lose his job with Leeds in danger of going down.
Leeds appear to be turning to Sam Allardyce as a replacement and a deal is expected very soon.
Other options have been considered by Leeds though and Lee Bowyer is thought to be one of them.
The Daily Mail claim that Bowyer has been talked about as a potential replacement for Gracia.
Out of work since leaving Birmingham City at the end of last season, Bowyer is seeking another managerial opportunity.
The 46-year-old was a Leeds star in his playing days, racking up 265 appearances for the Whites.
A return to Elland Road would be emotional for Bowyer and he has now commented on the job.

Lee Bowyer comments on Leeds United
Bowyer spoke to talkSPORT this morning (02/05, 10:30am) and was obviously asked about Leeds.
Bowyer didn’t definitively state whether he has been approached by Leeds.
However, Bowyer did admit that he absolutely loves Leeds and his affinity with the club is never going to disappear.
Bowyer added that he would ‘of course’ take the Leeds job if he was asked to come in.
Bowyer even claims that he would ‘jump’ at the chance to become Leeds boss if asked any time soon.
“I love the club, I had great times there and if I had the call then of course, I would never turn that job down, never ever,” said Bowyer. “I have a great relationship with the fans and with the club, that will never change.”
“If I was lucky enough to get that call one day, then yeah, I would jump at it and I would be honoured to take that club forward,” he added.
It looks like Alllardyce will be the new man for Leeds but if that deal falls apart, Bowyer would be ready to step in immediately.
