Goal journalist Charles Watts has said on his YouTube channel that Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi is too expensive for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Hakimi has been linked with a move to Arsenal as a potential replacement for Hector Bellerin.
Football.London reported in April that Arsenal are looking at Hakimi as Bellerin will be allowed to leave this summer, as covered by HITC Sport.
Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Watts has said that the 22-year-old Inter Milan full-back will be too expensive for the Gunners.
Watts said on his YouTube channel: “They want to sign a right-back this summer, we know that, doesn’t look like it’s going to be Hakimi.
“I am sure you have seen that he is very heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea for around £60 million as well. That’s certainly a price-tag that puts Arsenal out of the equation for Hakimi.”
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Inter want more than €60 million (£51.55 million) for Hakimi.
The Morocco international full-back helped Inter win the Serie A title this season.
The 22-year-old is one of the best young right-backs in Europe.
Arsenal are a massive club and a global brand, but the Gunners will not play in the Champions League next season.
PSG are a very wealthy club, and Hakimi would be winning trophies at the French club, or at least challenging for them.
The youngster made 29 starts and eight substitute appearances in Serie A for Inter this season.
The 22-year-old scored seven goals and gave eight assists in those games.
Hakimi was largely used further forward this season, and the youngster was able to help out in attack and make Inter very potent upfront.
