Trevor Sinclair has claimed that Alexandre Lacazette will be ‘out of the door’ at Arsenal next summer, as he told talkSPORT.

The 30-year-old is out-of-contract in June 2022 and Sinclair doesn’t think he will pen down a new deal and instead leave for free.

There were suggestions that Lacazette could have left this summer, but in the end, he stayed put in North London.

It has been four years since the Gunners secured the signature of Lacazette from Lyon for £52 million (Sky Sports), and if he does leave for free, then it probably says a lot about how he has faired at the club.

Or the manner in which things are run in the boardroom.

Nonetheless, ex-England winger Sinclair thinks, even with Lacazette’s presence up top, the Gunners are still missing that ‘focal point’.

“You have got a lot of young players coming to the football club, where they might need time to bed in,” said Sinclair.

“But what I would say is that I thought that they were desperate for a striker. Someone who could be a focal point.

“Lacazette’s not renewing his contract, he looks like he is out of the door next summer.”

Lacazette has only managed 31 minutes in the Premier League this season because of COVID issues, but he is now back in action now and will be hoping to showcase his worth after the international break.

The Frenchman possibly produced the best season of his career last term, scoring 17 goals in all competitions and 13 in England’s top-flight (transfermarkt).

If he produces those same performances again then it has to be questioned whether Arsenal should part ways with him next summer?

At the end of the day, it’s not like the North London club have got goals galore in their forward line or are ripping it up for fun.
