Danny Mills told talkSPORT that Patrick Bamford was ‘out of sorts’ during Leeds United’s 2-1 win over Newcastle on Tuesday night.
Even though Leeds picked up all three points, Bamford has found life tough in recent weeks and it was perhaps a reason why Marcelo Bielsa subbed him last night.
Just after Newcastle equalised, Bamford was brought off for Tyler Roberts, with Leeds then going on to score the winning goal a minute later through Jack Harrison’s cool finish.
Former England defender Mills shared that Leeds’ £10 million man [BBC Sport] hasn’t been himself recently and it was proven during the St James’ Park clash.
“It’s not quite happened for Patrick tonight, has it?” said Mills. “I know he works very, very hard for the team.
“His touch hasn’t quite been there this evening. He just seems a bit out of sorts. Bielsa’s not afraid to make big decisions [in taking Bamford off].”

Whilst Bamford has ten goals to his name in the Premier League this season, he hasn’t managed to find the back of the net during his last four league matches.
But even though Bamford is trying to find his shooting boots, you can bet your bottom dollar that he will be in the starting XI for Leeds’ away clash at Leicester City at the weekend.
As Bielsa proved in the Championship, he is always going to back Bamford’s talents even if some feel that he is struggling for form and needs dropping to the bench.
