Cody Gakpo is a player in demand, with Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs linked with the PSV and Netherlands international winger.

According to Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer on Twitter, Liverpool and Manchester United plan to hold talks with the representatives of Gakpo after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The 23-year-old is playing for the Netherlands in Qatar at the moment.

The Mirror reported in October that Arsenal and Leeds are interested in signing the 23-year-old in the January transfer window.

Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham could make a bid for the winger in January.

With so many clubs keen on Gakpo, it is going to be hard for PSV to keep hold of the winger, who himself has hinted that he is open to leaving the Dutch giants after the 2022 World Cup.

After all, the winger knows that his stock is high, especially after his performances for the Netherlands in Qatar.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals for the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup.

The winger has scored nine goals and given 12 assists in 14 Eredivisie matches, and has scored three goals and provided two assists in five UEFA Europa League games for PSV so far this season.

However, one club that Gakpo now looks unlikely to move to in January is Leeds.

That’s because Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch has said that the winger is now out of the club’s price-range.

The American coach added that the West Yorkshire outfit were very close to signing the winger in the summer of 2022.

Marsch said to Men In Blazers host Roger Bennett, as transcribed by The Yorkshire Evening Post: “It’s difficult for us at Leeds because I think Gakpo has gotten out of our price range.

“We were so close to securing a transfer for him in summer. I mean, it was so close and now obviously it’s disappointing for us.

“Our sports director was in Holland and was meeting with the family, had agreed on terms on everything, was talking with PSV. I mean, we were 99.9 per cent [of the way there], so I felt bad for Victor Orta and all the effort that he put into it.”
