Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur had an absolute belter in North London this evening.

A pulsating clash finished 2-2 and there was as many controversial incidents as there were goals.

The first one came when Harry Kane received a yellow card for Tottenham following a studs-up challenge on Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp looked furious on the touchline and television replays indicate that the Spurs hitman was fortunate to stay on the field.

Had Robertson’s leg been planted, it could’ve been disastrous for the Scottish defender.

And Michael Owen has slammed Kane for the tackle, describing it as ‘out of control’ and had the potential to inflict ‘serious damage’.

He told Premier League productions: “Andy is lucky he’s just lifting up off the ground. It could’ve been very different. It’s studs. It’s out of control. He could’ve been in serious problems.”

Furious

As mentioned, the Liverpool boss was absolutely livid.

But it’s nothing compared to how he would’ve felt later in the game when Robertson was then sent off himself for a much lesser foul on Emerson Royal.

The Anfield outfit also had a very strong penalty appeal denied in the first half.

And Klopp, who himself was booked, will do well to keep his emotions to a minimum during the post-match interviews.

Son Heung-min ultimately salvaged a point for Tottenham by making it 2-2 following an Alisson error.

Five minutes before that, Robertson fired the visitors into a 2-1 lead, completing the comeback after Diogo Jota cancelled out Kane’s opener.
