Darren Bent told talkSPORT (01/12/20 at 8:40 am) that Gabriel Magalhães has been ‘the one’ who has ‘stepped up’ for Arsenal during their dire start to the season.
The 22-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer, and despite the ‘lack of belief’ around the place, he has been a shining light for a set of fans trying to pick themselves up from the floor once again.
Three defeats during their past three home matches – Leicester City, Aston Villa, and most recently Wolves – is a big reason behind that.
But Bent touched upon how Gabriel has done ‘really well’ since he joined, as he also briefly praised Kieran Tierney.
“Out of all the players there, Gabriel, I think he has been the one to stepped up,” said Bent. “I think he has done really well since coming in. But, other than that, Tierney, at times.
“There is a real lack of belief and identity in this Arsenal squad and it’s a real concern.”

For years now, Arsenal fans have been crying out for a centre-back that can dominate his area of the pitch and showcase some much-needed leadership qualities that has been missing at the club.
Well, the young Brazilian is doing just that, but before he gets dragged into the bad habits around him, the rest of the Arsenal team also need to step-up their own games.
The promising thing for Arsenal is that even when they have looked off-colour, both in attack and in defence, he still looks as though he is playing a different game to those around him.
