Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Ryan Mason has confirmed that Ben Davies won’t be playing against Sheffield United.
The Welsh left-back has been out of action for quite some time now, and sadly, he won’t be able to appear against the Magpies either.
As is standard in most press conferences, Mason was asked for any injury updates, to which he replied:
“Same as last week, just Ben Davies out now.”
It’s a shame to hear that Davies hasn’t recovered for this game, but Spurs shouldn’t miss him too much for this clash.
Davies went down in late March, and initial reports claimed that he was only supposed to be out of action for three weeks.
Fortunately for Spurs, they have other options in that position, and you’d have to imagine that Sergio Reguilon will once again be called upon at left-back this weekend.
Fingers crossed Davies can come back before the end of the season and get a good run of games under his belt, especially with Wales’ European Championship campaign starting in a couple of months’ time.
Whether or not Davies will be back in time for Spurs’ trip to Leeds remains to be seen.
