Journalist David Ornstein has delivered a crushing injury update about Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Ukrainian defender was forced off in his side’s 2-0 victory against Newcastle United with a calf problem.
Now, it seems Arsenal may have to sustain their Premier League title challenge without Oleksandr Zinchenko, after the fresh injury he has suffered.
What Ornstein said about Zinchenko injury
The former Manchester City technician has been a revelation ever since signing for the Gunners in the summer, performing that inverted left-back role magnificently well.
Lauded for his leadership qualities as well, Mikel Arteta branded the four-time Premier League winner as a ‘perfectionist’ via GOAL saying that he is constantly ‘demanding’ to reach higher standards on a daily basis.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, the Athletic journalist David Ornstein has said that an injury to Oleksandr Zinchenko has ruled him out until the end of the season.

“Arsenal defenders, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko out for rest of season. Saliba has not recovered sufficiently from back injury & Zinchenko picked up calf problem at Newcastle. Better news is neither expected to require surgery”, he said on Twitter.
HITC View: Chance for Tierney to show what he’s made of
While Kieran Tierney looks set to leave London Colney in the summer, he will still relish the opportunity to become a regular starter again.
After all, the Scottish international has been restricted to a mere five league starts this campaign, which has meant the average fan has forgotten just how much quality he possesses.
With injury interrupting Oleksandr Zinchenko in his quest to try to win a third league title in a row, Kieran Tierney could even prove to potential suitors why they must prise him away from Arsenal.
It is unfortunate for the former Celtic defender that he profiles like a traditional left-back and is not at all suited to playing in an inverted role, which Mikel Arteta has made a priority in his side.
However, Tierney could show the world why he has always been rated as one of the Premier League’s best left-backs since he stepped foot on English sores.
