Jamie O’Hara has torn into Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilon for his latest performance.
Spurs went down 2-1 to Aston Villa in North London last night to leave them seventh in the Premier League table with one game to go.
And it was a horror show for the Spain international, who signed for Tottenham under Jose Mourinho from Real Madrid last summer.
First, the former Real left-back scored a bizarre own goal when his sliced clearance – with his weaker foot – nestled into the corner of the net beyond a helpless Hugo Lloris.
Later in the half, it was another botched clearance from Reguilon that cost the Lilywhites as Ollie Watkins fired Villa into a 2-1 lead.
Going forward, there wasn’t much to write home about from the player either and former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara has written on Twitter that he has been the club’s ‘worst player for months’.
Reguilon’s form has undeniably dipped over the past few months but apart from Harry Kane, quite a lot of other Spurs stars have suffered a big dip.
The likes of Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele are nowhere near as good for Tottenham as they were during the first half of the campaign.
But the adage is true – form is temporary, class is permanent, and Reguilon, in his defence, has already shown enough class since joining the North Londoners to prompt optimism that he’ll recover next term.
