Tanguy Ndombele continues to be linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old has endured a disappointing first season in North London following a £63 million move from Lyon last summer.

Barcelona have been linked and Bleacher Report claimed earlier this month that Tottenham are looking to move him on due to concerns over his attitude.

If Ndombele goes, Spurs will need a replacement and maybe, just maybe, that man is William Carvalho.

Like the France international, Carvalho is a powerful and dynamic midfielder who is reportedly on the Lilywhites’ radar.

According to AS in Spain, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign him, but would he want him if Ndombele was staying? Probably not.

As mentioned, they’re very similar players and it simply makes no sense for Mourinho to want both.

If the rumour about Carvalho has legs then it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Portuguese coach has designs on his compatriot coming in as Ndombele’s replacement rather than his team-mate.
