It’s Harry Redknapp’s favourite time of year – Transfer Deadline Day and his former club Tottenham could be doing some ‘wheeling and dealing’.
There will be eyes on both incomings at Tottenham today, as well as the players who could be heading for the exit door.
One name that has popped up hours before the close is that of Japhet Tanganga and how West Brom have expressed an interest in bringing him to the Midlands on a temporary basis, according to the Express and Star.
Regular game time for Tanganga at another Premier League club, especially one battling relegation, would do the 21-year-old some good.
But Spurs aren’t in a position where they can allow such a promising and versatile player leave.
If the competition was rife at Tottenham, they were flying high and doing what Mourinho does best from a defensive aspect then a loan move to West Brom would be talked about.
But Spurs aren’t in that situation to let him leave and it could even be argued that Tanganga should be earning more minutes on the pitch.
It could prove to be a costly mistake from the likes of Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho if they let the player depart today.

From the lack of form at the back to an injury occurring, at any moment, Tanganga might be needed during these pressure-cooker months for those in North London.
Whilst the Tottenham academy product is a natural centre-back, he has also showcased his skills at fullback, which is an area of worry for fans, especially on the right.
So, whilst it will be tempting for Levy and Co. to sign on the dotted line and accept any approach from West Brom for Tanganga, the youngster needs to stay put in the capital.
Not only that, he could yet play an important role for the club, especially with the high volume of matches coming up. From Europa League matches to that all-important League Cup final.
