Appointing Brendan Rodgers as Leicester’s new manager has proved to be a fantastic decision.
The Foxes are currently third in the Premier League, five points ahead of fourth placed Chelsea.
Rodgers certainly has transformed Leicester but the Foxes have been in a similar position before.
Claudio Ranieri’s side overcame all the odds to win the Premier League crown a few years ago. Nobody expected them to get anywhere near the top in the following season, and rightly so, but the Foxes didn’t help themselves either.
Leicester sold N’golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Riyad Mahrez in consecutive transfer windows following their incredible title triumph.
It is always difficult for a club like Leicester to keep hold of their star players, especially when one of the bigger teams come calling.
Losing the trio back then derailed their progress slightly but Rodgers has taken over and turned the Foxes into a formidable side.
However, a season as good as this one attracts eyes from the best teams in the country and that could again cause the Foxes to lose a few of their best players.
Ben Chilwell could start an exodus

The Telegraph claimed recently that Manchester City have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Ben Chilwell in the summer.
It will once again be difficult for Leicester to put their foot down against the two big boys, but the Foxes are in a much better position than they were after their title win a few years ago.
Leicester’s performances this season have looked a lot more solid than it did back then. Not many people can call their wins a fluke anymore while their recent transfer activity has also shown that they aren’t afraid to spend big and compete with the top teams.
Chilwell still has over four years left on his current contract. The thought of playing for Chelsea or Manchester City, who are fighting for trophies on a regular basis, is tempting for any player and Chilwell will be no different.

However, allowing the young English full-back to leave will set another dangerous precedent, which will tell the world that the Foxes will sell their best players as long as they get the money.
Selling Chilwell this summer will open the doors for the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Caglar Soyuncu, Harvey Barnes, Ricardo Pereira, Youri Tielemans and the rest to jump ship in the upcoming transfer windows.
That will make the Foxes a lot richer but they will end up in the same place as they were a few years ago. The rebuilding will again take time and this time, they just might not be able to assemble a team as good as this one.
It is time that Leicester put their foot down and keep hold of all of their best players. With Rodgers and all their young stars, they have something really special, and it would be a shame to see all of them leave the King Power for bigger clubs before they achieve something big together.
