Florian Kamberi’s hopes of a return to Rangers could be aided by reports of an imminent six-figure transfer involving a different Scotland-based striker.
Kamberi spent the second half of last season on loan to Rangers and scored or made three goals in nine games for Steven Gerrard’s team.
According to Edinburgh Live, Rangers have ‘rekindled their interest’ in the Swiss and want to renew their temporary arrangement with Hibernian, to whom they loaned midfielder Greg Docherty – although it is claimed that Kamberi would favour a permanent move.
Either way, there could soon be less of a need for Kamberi back at his parent club.
According to The Scottish Sun, Hibs are ‘set to sign’ Dunfermline’s Kevin Nisbet – who The Glasgow Times claimed was previously watched by Rangers – and add him to a striking armoury which already comprises Christian Doidge (their 18-goal top scorer last term) and Jamie Gullan (the youngster who struck nine goals in 18 games for Raith Rovers).

And while it is possible that Hibs boss Jack Ross would want to keep on the books an additional, recognised centre-forward, you suspect given this week’s Kamberi speculation that Nisbet’s arrival would help to clear at least part of the pathway that keeps his prospective new teammate from Rangers.
