Rangers are reportedly keen to bring Ross Wilson to Ibrox.

Rangers saw director of football Mark Allen leave the club earlier this month, meaning there is now a major hole in the club’s recruitment staff ahead of the January transfer window.
The Gers will need to land a replacement in the near future, but there haven’t really been many names linked with taking the post.
Rangers chief scout Andy Scoulding could be promoted, but the only other name touted is that of Ross Wilson, the Southampton director of football operations.
The Daily Record claim that Rangers are once again keen on landing Wilson, aving made him their top target in 2017 before eventually landing Allen.
Wilson explained to BBC Sport that he snubbed a move to Ibrox as the move simply didn’t come at the right time for him, and it’s hard to see how that position could have changed now.
The Telegraph noted earlier this year that Wilson has been given a ‘wider role’ at Southampton and is even on the club’s board, meaning it’s hard to see him given up such huge responsibility unless it’s for a major role at a huge English club.

A return to Scotland – having previously been on the staff at Falkirk – may not be a step up for Wilson, even if Rangers are a huge club, and the Gers may find that they receive a similar answer from Wilson as they did two years ago.
Wilson rejected Rangers back then, and has since been given even more responsibility at St Mary’s Stadium following the exit of chairman Ralph Krueger, so another Rangers approach may be more out of hope than expectation.
Rangers will no doubt have other options in mind, and Scoulding may be near the top of them, but a move for Wilson looks very unlikely, with the Scot possibly out of Rangers’ grasp once again.
