Liverpool are reportedly interested in Jamal Lewis – and it could have positive implications for Leeds United if they get him.
According to The Telegraph, the Reds are set to bid £10 million for the Norwich City left-back.
Should Liverpool succeed in bringing Lewis to Anfield, it could potentially clear the way for Leeds to sign Yasser Larouci.
Larouci is the closest natural left-back to being Andy Robertson’s understudy on Merseyside, but if Lewis arrives then it’ll push the 19-year-old further down the pecking order.
And theoretically, the Premier League champions probably don’t have a long-term plan for Larouci if the Canaries star is signed.
The reason why Liverpool aren’t bringing in a replacement for Adam Lallana is because the promise that Curtis Jones has shown over the past eight months, so Jurgen Klopp would do the same with Larouci if it was deemed that he had the same potential.
Leeds are going to suffer quite a bit of disappointment in the transfer window this summer, and that’s just par for the course when you’re a Premier League club.
But if Lewis winds up being signed by Klopp then Larouci is definitely attainable. Whether or not he ends up in West Yorkshire remains to be seen.
