After watching Timo Werner join Chelsea, Liverpool fans could be set for yet another transfer blow.

Liverpool wanted to sign Germany international striker Werner from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports.

However, as announced on Chelsea’s official website, the 24-year-old striker has moved to the Blues.

Another Bundesliga-based player Liverpool have been linked with is Kai Havertz, with Goal.com reporting in May of manager Jurgen Klopp’s interest in signing the Germany international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

Back in February, The Express claimed that the Premier League giants are ‘desperate’ to secure the German’s signature this summer.

Havertz is one of the best young players in Europe, and despite the Reds being very strong in attack, the 21-year-old would be a very good signing for the Merseyside outfit.

However, it seems that the Germany international fancies a move to Chelsea, as he has ‘liked’ a post on Twitter urging the Blues to sign him.

Interestingly, The Daily Mail reported this month that Chelsea want to sign Havertz.
