Having snapped up Timo Werner when it looked like the striker would join Liverpool, Chelsea are now eyeing another of manager Jurgen Klopp’s reported target Houssem Aouar.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle with RB Leipzig over the transfer of Werner in the summer transfer window.

This after Liverpool manager Klopp had a phone call with the Germany international striker earlier this year, according to the report, which has added that the player himself wanted to move to the Reds.

However, it is Chelsea who have reportedly secured the services of the 24-year-old goalscoring machine after assuring him of regular first-team action.

Another player Liverpool have been linked with is Houssem Aouar, with RMC Sport claiming that the Reds are ‘very interested’ in the 21-year-old Lyon midfielder.

The Mirror has claimed that the Premier League giants have followed the £40 million-rated Frenchman for the past three years.

However, a new report in ESPN has claimed that Chelsea are now keen on the Lyon star.

Lyon are reported to be looking to cash in on the youngster, and the Blues’ interest could be a sign of things to come for Liverpool in their alleged pursuit of Aouar.

Could Chelsea beat Liverpool to the signing of yet another quality footballer this summer?

Let’s wait and see.
