Arsenal might have just received a bit of a transfer boost.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport last month, the Gunners may be interested in signing the RB Leipzig loanee Patrik Schick.

The 24-year-old Czech attacker is enjoying a brilliant loan spell with the Bundesliga club, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances this season.

But Arsenal could be genuine contenders to sign him – if they’re interested – and that’s because Leipzig won’t be in the race.

The German club’s coach Julian Nagelsmann told Bild this week that it’s difficult for Leipzig to sign the Roma-owned forward on a permanent basis.

He said: “I believe we probably won’t purchase Schick and Angelino. We cannot waste resources, even if we do qualify for the Champions League.”

Considering he seems to be enjoying his time in Germany, Schick might’ve been open to the idea of a permanent sale.

And if Roma don’t want him, and Leipzig can’t buy him, then Arsenal can consider themselves to have a fair crack at the whip in this regard.

Of course, this is far from an exact science, becuase it hinges on whether the North Londoners even genuinely do want him.

But if they do, he might be there for them.
