Jose Mourinho may just be opening the door for Dominik Szoboszlai to arrive in January, as rumours of a clear out emerge.
The Telegraph suggest that Harry Winks could leave Tottenham in the new year, while David Ornstein claims that Dele Alli has been put up for sale.
The pair have both struggled for game time at Spurs this season, but for Tottenham to offload them both in January would be somewhat of a surprise.
Spurs’s midfield options would be significantly weakened by the departures of Winks and Alli, and Mourinho would only have limited cover in the position, if the pair were to depart.
That is, of course, unless Szoboszlai was to move to Tottenham in January.
The rumours that the Hungarian wonderkid, who has a £23 million release clause (Gazetta), is on Tottenham’s wishlist have stepped up a notch in recent times.

90 Minutes were the first to report on Tottenham’s interest in the Red Bull Leipzig attacking midfielder, and it has since been backed up by a range of sources.
At the moment there appears to be little space in Tottenham’s squad for Szoboszlai.
Spurs already have a huge amount of options in the middle of the park, which is highlighted by the Alli’s and Winks’s struggles to break into the team.
But if the pair were to depart then, all of a sudden, there would certainly be room for another midfielder to be added to Tottenham’s group.
And Mourinho’s reportedly emerging plan to sell Winks and Alli, may just hint that he is opening the door for Szoboszlai’s arrival.
