Jose Mourinho admitted that some of his Tottenham Hotspur players had ‘very bad’ individual performances on Thursday.
Spurs were held to a 3-3 draw with LASK during a Europa League game in Austria, with the hosts scoring a last-minute equaliser.
And goalkeeper Joe Hart is more than likely one of the players who the Tottenham boss was talking about.
Hart couldn’t do much about LASK’s third goal, but he could and certainly should have saved their first two and you have to wonder whether Mourinho regrets bringing him in.
The Portuguese signed Hart on a Bosman this past summer after his Burnley contract expired.
And let’s face it, these weren’t his first two mistakes in a Lilywhites shirt.
The former Manchester City and England star undeniably brings some experience to Mourinho’s squad, and off-the-field he’s definitely a good addition.
But on it, he remains very shaky.
This is okay if it’s limited to the Europa League, in games that Tottenham are good enough to win despite average goalkeeping performances [Thursday notwithstanding] but Hart is in line to make his Premier League debut against Arsenal tomorrow due to Hugo Lloris’s injury [The Guardian].
Say what you want about Arsenal, but they’re a much better side than LASK and if Hart isn’t at the races against Mikel Arteta’s side, the Lilywhites’ hierarchy could really regret signing him then.
