The rumours about Liverpool signing Timo Werner aren’t going away.
Each and everytime there’s a report that claims the Reds won’t be signing the Leipzig hitman, there’s more that follow which claim that he will be heading to Anfield.
Sky Sports reported back in April that Liverpool were ‘ready’ to make a move for the 24-year-old German attacker, which looks to be wide of the mark given that he’s no closer to moving to Merseyside.
But at this stage, a lot of Liverpool fans will be frustrated if he winds up elsewhere – and it’ll just be horrible if he were to join, say, Manchester United or somebody.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils are also keen on Werner and there’s an expectation that he could leave the Bundesliga for a ‘reasonable price’.
It’s no secret that there’s little love lost betwen Liverpool and their rivals at Old Trafford.
And it’ll be gut-wrenching for those at Anfield if a long-term target like Werner really does find himself playing for the enemy next season and beyond.
