According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have so far been reluctant to accept Real Madrid’s buy-back clause demands for Sergio Reguilon.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new left back, and it seems that Reguilon is the player they’re most interested in.
However, Real Madrid are demanding a clause to buy Reguilon back in the future, and United are refusing to accept it – meaning a move is now at a standstill.
United aren’t the only team involved in the race for Reguilon, with Tottenham Hotspur also looking to sign the promising Spaniard.
The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that Tottenham are prepared to meet the £25million price tag, as are United.
The problem may then come with the buy-back clause, as it just doesn’t seem like something Daniel Levy would be particularly interested in.

Levy is a tough negotiator, and loves to maximise the profit he can make on signings, allowing talks to drag on and on in order to get the best deal for Spurs.
With Real’s demands, they would be able to swoop in and re-sign Reguilon for a set price, taking all of that negotiating power out of Levy’s hands – and just like United, it’s hard to see Spurs accepting those terms.
