Troy Parrott is reportedly on the brink of leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old hitman is set to join Championship side Millwall on a half-season loan from Spurs, with his medical soon [London Evening Standard].
And Tottenham fans should be excited about this one for two reasons: Firstly, there’s no telling what kind of player Parrott could come back to North London as next year, with a full season of regular football under his belt.
And secondly, it’s a damn big hint that chairman Daniel Levy is finally going to sign a striker.
Tottenham haven’t had much luck in regards to signing strikers, with Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente arriving in 2016 and 2017 but neither were quality plan-b options for Harry Kane.
If and when Parrott goes, Kane will suddenly be Jose Mourinho’s only number nine and surely Levy will add another hitman to Mourinho’s ranks.
Signing a striker is a bit more exciting for fans than signing, say, a goalkeeper or a left-back, and it’s been a while since a centre-forward last joined the club.
In fact, Llorente was the last one, on August 31 in 2017.
But with the Irish sensation being farmed out for the season, there’s no chance that Levy won’t be signing another one – and hopefully for Spurs’ sake, he’s better than the big Spaniard and Janssen.
