Leeds United are sitting top of the Championship table after five games.

One of Leeds United’s problems last season was their reliance on certain players for goals – from either Patrick Bamford, Kemar Roofe or Pablo Hernandez. And even then, the two strikers hardly played with each other because they were injured at different times over the course of the season.

But during these first five games of the new season, there is a positive pattern emerging for Leeds and that is they are spreading the goals around, which must continue if they are to earn promotion.

Only Swansea have scored more goals (11) than Leeds (10) in these opening games, with the Welsh club sitting second and level on points with Bielsa’s men.

In all competitions, this season, the likes of Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski, Patrick Bamford, Eddie Nketiah, Gaetano Beradi, Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez and Jack Harrison have found the back of the net. That is a total of eight different scorers, which is very healthy.

On top of that, centre-backs usually like to contribute their fair share of goals over the course of the campaign, which might add to that list, and someone like Tyler Roberts is yet to play this season.

In truth, Leeds should be spreading their goals a lot more because of the way they play, especially in front of their supporters at Elland Road.

At the weekend, away from home against Stoke, Leeds’ fullbacks, Dallas and Alioski were both on the scoresheet and the main reason behind it is they practically play as wingers.

Not only that, they suffocate teams very high up the pitch and they try their utmost best to overload in the attacking areas, which is why they are one of the best teams to watch in the second tier of English football.

On Tuesday, Leeds will face Stoke once again, but this time in the EFL Cup, and if Bielsa does make changes then the replacements will be very hungry to prove their worth in front of goal.
